Who we are

The ICT (Information and Communications Technology) Policy Unit promotes the integration of ICT in teaching and learning in first and second level schools.

What we do

  • Policy research, analysis and advice addressing the integration of ICT into teaching and learning
  • Co-ordination of the ICT in Schools Programme, in conjunction with the Department’s front line support services for schools and key agencies
  • Funding a range of ICT continuous professional development courses for teachers www.TeacherCPD.ie, accompanied by www.scoilnet.ie, the national portal for curriculum-relevant digital content for use in teaching and learning (services delivered by the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST))
  • Funding of the schools broadband access service (services delivered by the PDST)
