Who we are

The Central Policy Unit co-ordinates a wide range of cross-departmental policy issues for the Department.

What we do

  • Co-ordination of an agreed programme of Value For Money (VFM) assessments
  • Support for the Department's role in relation to various cross-departmental and internal policy issues
  • Support the Data & Knowledge Management Unit in the management of a programme of work, incorporating projects in the area of evaluation and research, overseen by the Department's Data, Evaluation & Research Management Board Sub-committee (DERMS)
  • Specific projects currently being progressed:
    • Forum on Patronage and Pluralism in the Primary School Sector
    • Anti-Bullying
    • Consultation on School Autonomy
