Digital Strategy for Schools 2015-2020 ICT Infrastructure Funding

Additional Funding distributed based on applications from Schools

For the 2018-2019 issue of the Digital Strategy ICT funding, up to €5 million will issue to schools on receipt of a completed application form; where schools can demonstrate their engagement with the Digital Strategy. This additional payment aims to recognise school’s efforts to embed the use of digital technologies in teaching, learning and assessment.

Once schools have submitted their application together with the required documentation, a per capita amount will issue to successful schools. The specific per capita amount to issue will depend on the number of schools applying and qualifying, and the number of learners in those schools. Fee-paying schools will receive this at the 50% rate applying to capital funding.

It is proposed to issue this “conditional” funding on the same basis to both primary and post-primary.

This funding will be in addition to the automatically issued funding, as outlined in Circular 0018/2019. The terms applying to the use to which this funding can be put are the same as outlined in that circular.
