Will primary schools get funding for standardised testing?

They will receive an annual standardised testing grant based on the previous year's enrolment.

When has the standardised testing to take place in primary schools?

The testing has to be done in May/June for pupils in 2nd, 4th and 6th classes.

Who is responsible for storing the results?

The school has to report to the parents and board of management and to send aggregate results to the Department. The results must be made available to the Inspectorate when undertaking school inspections.

Is there going to be standardised testing in post primary schools?

The Literacy and Numeracy Strategy proposes that there should be standardised testing in 2nd year of post-primary schools. Implementation is currently under consideration within the Department.
