09 September, 2015 - Minister English congratulates students who receive their Junior Certificate results today

The Minister for Skills, Research and Innovation, Damien English, TD. congratulated the 59,522 students who will receive their Junior Certificate results today.

The results will be available in schools today and available on-line from 4pm on www.examinations.ie

“I want to say well done to all the students receiving their results today.  I hope that your work over three years has paid off.”

Minister English welcomed the increase in those sitting Mathematics at Higher Level. The Minister stated that the numbers of those sitting Higher Level Mathematics has risen from 44.9% in 2010 to 55.3% in 2015.  The Minister also welcomed the increase in those sitting Higher Level Science.  

“These are welcome developments in view of the importance of the STEM subjects.  I look forward to the report from the Chief Examiner on Junior Certificate Mathematics for 2015 which will reflect the impact of the full implementation of the revised syllabus, commonly known as “Project Maths””.
