13 August, 2014- Minister for Research, Innovation and Skills congratulates 1,945 Meath students receiving their Leaving Certificate results today
Minister for Research, Innovation and Skills, Damien English, TD, today congratulated the 1945 students from Meath who received their Leaving Certificate results today.
“I’d like to congratulate the students in Meath who received their results today. The Leaving Certificate is an important exam and everyone one who completes the programme deserves congratulations.”
“Young students work incredibly hard for the Leaving Certificate and I hope that today’s results reflect the effort and dedication that students have invested in their studies over the past two years. I’d also like to recognise the tremendous commitment that teachers have demonstrated in preparing students for the exam.
“Completing the Leaving Certificate opens up a range of options for our young people. Many will now make the transition to university or college. However, there are also a wide range of high quality, accredited courses offered at the further education and PLC (Post Leaving Certificate) level that provide people with the skills and insight necessary to embark on a host of exciting careers. Whatever your results are today there are many options available to students and I would encourage them, together with their families, to access the information available as they make choices at this important time of their lives.
“Students will have formed strong friendships and bonds during secondary school and today is a day when students will celebrate the end of second level education. I hope students enjoy the celebrations with their family and friends today and also take care of each other,” concluded Minister English.
