The Department of Education and Skills has issued a letter to advise you that funding for the provision of home tuition will continue to be provided for the duration of the pandemic emergency where tuition is delivered by distance learning.

Information for Tutors
The Department would like to acknowledge the effort that tutors have undertaken to provide continuity of learning for students through online platforms, email and other resources, particularly where access to digital resources is more limited.

Special Needs and Tuition Grants Section are currently unable to take telephone queries. All queries should be forwarded to email@example.com for prompt reply. Please quote your PPSN and/HT reference no in your email. ALL home tuition claims should be forwarded via email until further notice.
Latest Payments News
Due to contingency planning for the COVID 19 situation - Some tutors will note that a payment that issues to them on April 2nd is higher than normal as it takes account of their February claim and where claimed, payment for two weeks tuition that would have taken place in March had tuition not been suspended. Payment for the final two weeks tuition for March will issue on April 16th ahead of the previously published date of April 30th. Normal payment dates will resume as per the calendar published here:
Home Tuition Payment Dates
The Department is pleased to announce that the rates for home tuition payments have increased for all tuition provided from the 01 September 2019. The new rates are:
|Fully Qualified Primary Teacher||€ 38.33 per hour|
|Fully Qualified Post Primary Teacher||€ 46.04 per hour |
|Modified Rate||€ 34.28 per hour|
Payment of Home Tuition
Home tuition payments are made directly by this Department to the approved tutor acting on behalf of the parent/ legal guardian once a payment claim form is received. Detailed information and all claim forms required are listed below:
