Introduction

Congratulations on your retirement and thank you for your years of service in the education sector. This year, for the first time, the Pension Unit will provide our general retirement pack information online only. This change has been actioned due to the current circumstances, and to make information more conveniently accessible and readily available to you, as well as in a bid to reduce our environmental impact.

The 2020 Retirement Pack will be available to all retirees though our website at the links below from the 10th September 2020.

It is very important to read all of the information provided in the pack, and we draw your attention particularly to the Important Information Following the Award of a Pension Note.

Please take note that you may be entitled to a Supplementary Pension* and can access the relevant forms you will need in order to apply for this, readily available in digital format.

You will continue to receive by post to the address provided on your application form, your personal service history and calculations as well as a Rettax 1 Letter. This letter is a summary of the pension contributions deducted from your gratuity. You may need to contact Revenue in relation to these deductions (if any) and the impact of same on your tax liability.

We want to take this opportunity to wish you all the best for your retirement.
