Critical Review: Expert Group on Future Skills Needs (EGFSN)

On 17th November 2011, the government published its Public Service Reform Plan, that included a programme of State Agency rationalisation. As part of this programme of rationalisation the Expert Group on Future Skills was nominated for Critical Review.

National Strategy for Higher Education to 2030 Implementation Oversight Group

In order to ensure effective oversight of implementation of the National Strategy for Higher Education to 2030 the Department of Education and Skills has established an Implementation Oversight Group.

Research and Development Committee

The School Transport Appeals Board in an Independent Body appointed by the Minister of State at the Department of Education and Skills.

Student Grants Appeals Board

The Student Grants Appeals Board reviews appeals from applicants, under the 2011 Student Grant Scheme onwards, in relation to the decision on their grant application.

Vocational Education Committees (VECs)

There are 33 Vocational Education Committees (VECs) established under, and governed according to the Vocational Education Acts.
